Usage estimates

The console Price calculator returns estimated points and a breakdown from classroom configuration. Estimates do not deduct points or create classrooms or reservations.

Inputs

SettingDescription
On-stage participantsConcurrent participants on stage, including on-stage teachers
AudienceOff-stage viewers; a positive count adds one classroom relay to the estimate
DurationExpected class duration in minutes
ResolutionAudio, SD, HD, FHD, 2K or 4K; the resource must have a rule for that tier
RecordingNone, classroom, mixed-stream or page recording
Other usageOptional captions, summaries, transcoding minutes, storage GB-months and CDN traffic in GB

Enter your expected configuration, then review the total, breakdown and available balance. Accepted calculator inputs do not imply that your plan grants that capacity, resolution or feature.

Metering basis

ResourceEstimateActual metering
On-stage mediaParticipants × minutes × tier rateEach member's actual on-stage intervals; classroom member intervals currently use the HD rate
Relay for off-stage viewingOne relay for the class duration when audience count is positiveActual relay task runtime; off-stage viewing does not currently generate per-viewer rtc.play usage
Relay mixingScreen-share mixing is not a separate calculator lineScreen-share relay mixing runtime may add rtc.relay_mix usage
RecordingClass duration × rate for the selected modeActual runtime of the recording task
Captions, summaries and other resourcesMinutes, operations, capacity or trafficReported service usage and effective metering rules

Entering, going on or off stage, leaving and ending a class produce different usage intervals. Raising a hand alone does not change the billing tier. Estimates assume the entered headcount stays constant for the entire duration; actual billing uses closed intervals and resource tasks.

Default media rates

The following default rates are in points per minute. Actual rating uses the effective price version, resource type and dimensions. For contract-specific or updated pricing, refer to console estimates and bills.

Relay mixing, rtc.relay_mix, defaults to 5.7 points per minute in addition to relay usage. A resource or tier without a configured rule cannot be estimated. Transcoding, storage, CDN and AI use their own effective rules rather than the media rates above.

Example 1: Two-person interactive class

Assume two participants on stage for 60 minutes at HD, with no audience, recording or other usage.

On-stage media = 2 × 60 × 4 = 480 points
Estimated total = 480 points

At the 100,000-point pack's reference unit price of ¥0.014, this represents ¥6.72 of usage. This excludes subscription fees and does not subtract granted points.

Example 2: Interactive class with audience and recording

Assume two participants on stage, eight off-stage viewers, 60 minutes at HD and one mixed-stream recording, with no screen-share mixing or other usage.

On-stage media = 2 × 60 × 4 = 480 points
Class relay = 1 × 60 × 7.714286 = 462.857160 points
Mixed recording = 1 × 60 × 7.5 = 450 points
Estimated total = 1,392.857160 points
Displayed total ≈ 1,392.86 points

At ¥0.014 per point, this is approximately ¥19.50. This example illustrates the estimate structure; running the class also requires the relevant capacity, audience and recording entitlements.

Estimate versus final bill

Final usage changes when:

  • Members leave early, enter late or change stage status.
  • Actual duration differs from the schedule.
  • Relay or recording tasks start and stop at different times.
  • Screen-share mixing, extra transcoding, storage, playback traffic or AI usage occurs.
  • The effective price version or resource dimensions change.

Estimates and classroom reservations are calculated separately. A class estimated at 480 points may still require the default 500-point minimum reserve. Settlement deducts actual usage and releases the remainder; see Resource points and billing.
